Seasoned traveller
- A Cairn Terrier named Johnny has been given a bus pass in Texas because he travels daily on the bus with his owner.
The pass bears his name and photograph
In a flap
- A 12 stone St Bernard became stuck in a cat flap when he was chasing a cat. His head was in the garden and the rest of him indoors.
A hack saw was needed to cut him free.
Natural boost
- A lady asked her neighbour, a vicar, to look after her rubber plant while she was away for a two week holiday.
The vicar did his best, but was not able to keep his Great Dane, Laddie away from the plant, despite his efforts he was too late to stop
Laddie doing what comes naturally. When the lady returned to collect her plant she exclaimed in delight "It looks great - do tell me what you
have been giving it to make it grow so well. I must get some !!"
Taxi!
- A cab driver in Stockton came back to his cab to find an unusual passenger. A Greyhound, complete with his fare and a note
requesting that he be taken to the Canine Defence Kennels in Darlington. He did just this, and needless to say the staff quickly named their new arrival 'Taxi'.
Holiday rescue

They were reunited in February last year when the dog left quarantine.
By air

where he was treated for suspected cancer. She said her dotty friend was worth every penny .
Slim escape
- A pair of terriers starved their way to freedom after spending three weeks trapped in a rabbit warren. The two went missing on Christmas
Day after chasing a rabbit while out with their owner. Despairing of ever seeing them again he got a Cocker Spaniel.
Then the two turned up on his doorstep, tired, thin and caked with mud.
Carriage dog
- Dalmatians have always been famed for running between the wheels of a horse drawn carriage, but Merlin had
no hope of finding one and had to make do with a horseless one - his owner's BMW.
He became stuck, and the fire brigade were called to the rescue with lifting gear and air bag. Even then he could only be enticed out with his favourite biscuits.
